And Sometimes You Do Get What You Want

Every now and then, I have to put some personal stuff on here! And I'm patting myself on the back because I'm finally caught up with the crazy train. In some ways it seems like it's not fair to the ones that I missed on the days that I was supposed to promote them - but I did a bit of tweeting of all the people I missed - so their promotion days sort of got extended. Hopefully, I will now be able to stay caught up - at least for a while!

Now - as to the title - I use the bus to get around, I don't own a car, so I'm very dependant on the bus system. I apply to the tansit dept every year for a special id that allows me to ride the bus for a lower rate - I got my new id the beginning of May this year - they are supposed to be good for 1 year right. Well, the other day I just happened to realize that my id had an expiration date of May 2009 on it! oops.

So, I called the transit dept - which actually gets switched to a city answering system with some of the most polite people I've ever encountered - the young man took the message and forwarded it to the appropriate person. Within 2 hours I got a call from a very nice lady with the transit dept who said she would print out a new id for me with the corrected date on it and mail it out to me tomorrow! Which is just what I asked for. I really didn't want to have to make a special trip downtown to get a new id - it's a 45 minute ride one way - and I don't really have any other reason to go there - so I was really happy that she said she would mail it to me!

So, you never know, you may just get what you ask for - if you ask!

Hi Kris,
Lucky you - how did you get someone on the phone that's polite and very helpful? You must have a very efficient transit dept.

I would love to live in the city then I don't have to drive.

Your creations are just magnificent. You're so talented and I'm so glad to have bumped into you..now I can see your work online often, too!

I haven't caught up with my online-errands and stuff - just been hectic, too.

BTW, I love your comments - you just made my weekend!

Havea great weekend!

Hi Dragon Lady-
YAY!!! You got what you wanted.
I miss Albuquerque. People there are really nice. They screw up things a lot but that is only because they are "enchanted."
(Living in the land of enchantment.....)
But they are nice. I know what a looong bus ride that would have been. Even just one way....oy

Jenjen - thank you for such a nice comment!
lololo I wish the transit dept was soooo effecient! Mayor Marty has done one good thing - he basically did a city answering system - You can call these people about all sorts of things - and I think they must have gone through a special "how to be super polite" class -
However, I did get my new id on Sat - so I guess the lady did put it in the mail on Frid!
I don't know, Dragon Lady Jane - it's getting pretty violent! Seems to be mostly gang and/or drug related - but hey they just dug like 12 bodies out of the west mesa a few months ago! This past weekend a group of 3 or 4 guys killed a woman holding up a Denny's on the west side - they had been holding up restaurants - they caught 2 of the guys 3rd one is member of a BAD gang - not sure about the 4th guy.
Over all day to day - regular people here are nice - but even San Mateo - Montgomery area is getting to be semi war zone!
wow - wonder what the web "spys" are going to do with this one!
lolo
Yay for monsoon season - just rained for about 10 minutes and now the sun is coming out again!
lolololo love the comment about being enchanted!
I think it must have something to do with the extra - oh shoot I can't think of the name of it - it's a natural occuring mineral ( something like that) that works on bipolar/depression and apparently Alb - has more than most areas!
Anyway - glad you ladies visited!

Dearest Dragon Enchanted Lady,
Lithium in the water. I know, I know, about the violence. But when you move away all you remember is the chilis and the mountains.
Love, Dragon Lady enchanted Jane

Greetings!

So awesome & so true!!! :-)

Sometimes asking can be the hardest thing to do - whether it is asking a fellow human or our various Unseen Friends out there, however one wishes to speak of them. But oh! The rewards we can reap when we do! :-)

Glad to read that it worked out so awesomely for you! :-)

BB & GF! :-)
