I haven't quite figured out this blogging thing yet - when the best time to post them is, what the best tags are, how long, how short. But, after reading a friends blog I decided to spend a little time doing another blog about her.
Why? Because she's a cool person, and she and her hubby are trying to get into a better situation than they are in! I know I would have an extremely difficult time living in a roach invested place. I realize that living in Florida, that's quite a battle to live without a bunch of roaches!

I also realize that there are alot of things going on with our economy right now - and I just realized I just missed the debate tonight! Maybe they'll recap it on Nightline!

Anyway, there are alot of people out there that aren't struggling - so, it's you Im talking to!

Both Melanie and her husband work. Although he was working at a job that is not his normal work, there were a lot of days that his boss didn't need him - well - yeah he was doing construction work, and I think we all know how that's going right now!

So, he did get a job in his usual line of work this past week, and I sure hope he gets to work A LOT for a long time! But, they could use a little extra help right now. Here's how you can help!

Melanie makes the cutest little clay beads. I know, because I have several sets of her beads.

I think the little pumpkin pie beads are so cute! They would be so unique to add to a place setting for Thanksgiving - and each person would have a little keepsake from Thanksgiving, and just think you've maybe helped someone have a little bit better Thanksgiving. Add them to a centerpiece along with the little Mallow Pumpkin! Need more than 6 pieces of pie? I'm sure she would be happy to make a dozen or more!

Halloween is just around the corner! And so what can you do with spiders, bats and witches hats?? Make earrrings with them! Put them on a bracelet for your little ghoul. Make them into a necklace - give them out as party favors to best costume at your costume party! Put them on a wire ring for a wine glass charm. Use them as part of a decoration.

And then we have that sweet little Mallow Pumpkin! Again, you could do some of same sorts of things with them!

I think all of her items are very reasonably priced for something that she makes by hand. They aren't massed produced, she makes each and every one of these with her own two hands. So, if you can find about 10 bucks to buy some really unique handmade creations it would sure help this very sweet person out! Besides making some adorable clay beads, Mel also works.

Oh yeah, she's also having a drawing for free beads! How do you enter the drawing? By buying something from either one of her shops!

Thanks - sorry it got so long!

Another Wonderful Etsy Hostie

Her name is Jeanette, but she goes by Maisy! What a fun name! I'm amazed by this wonderfully sweet person and all that she does.
Besides having 2 shops on etsy, she keeps up the blog for HOST, is in the team forum thread giving everyone encouragement where needed, compliments, hugs, short chats, more hugs and some thawks!
From her profile she says this about herself:
"was raised in lush, tropical St Lucia in the Caribbean and I firmly believe that gave me my magpie eye for rich colours and textures. My designs are often inspired just by the materials that I work with and my combinations are intended to bring out the best in the stones, and to be comfortable and unselfconscious for you to wear. "
I love that "magpie eye" description. Magpies are great at finding little jewels. So this seems to be fitting because she does have some pretty jewels in her shop. Maisy resides in Dorset, UK.

Maisy also occasionally visits my flickr page and leaves me some fun comments, I'm not sure how she keeps up with everything she does!

The beautiful long strand of pearls is from her http://maisyh.etsy.com/ shop. I think those are so elegant -
and the necklace with the different blue beads is from her http://mcnovelties.etsy.com/ shop.

That's one of the really cool thing about Maisy's designs, she does simple but nice items that you can wear during the day or night - to more elegant and dressy designs like the long strand of pearls.
Her blog: http://teaandjewels.blogspot.com/
And her other blog: http://maisyh.blogspot.com/

and Host: http://helpingothersstreetteam.blogspot.com/
Where she does a beautiful job of writing about team members and their shops.

I probably don't do half of what she does, and I can't keep up with it all!
Go, check out her shops - remember Christmas is right around the corner!

Have a wonderful day.

MY FEATURED ETSYIAN HOSTY

Reusable Produce bags by Ficklefaerie
Ms. Ficklefaerie lives Waaaaay Up in Northern Ontario, Canada and is the mother to 3 grown daughters. And she makes these awesome reusable produce bags. What a neat idea - wow that would save so much plastic, reduce our use of oil, and keep a lot of trash out of the landfills, out of the streets..................They're not only reusable, they are also washable. And I think much more versatile:
You could use them for little beach toys - just shake the sand out -run it under the water to get the rest off and you keep that sticky beach sand out of the car.
I think they would even be great for putting knitting in - just protect the needle ends so they don't poke holes in the mesh - but you would be able to see what's in it! I have at least 4 canvas bags with current projects - but I'm always having to look inside to see what's in each - but with these I'd be able to see what project is in there - mmmmm maybe I'd better go get some of those!
Even though FickleFaerie lives Waaay up in Northern Ontaria - she only charges $2.00 - $4.00 for shipping - that's very very reasonable shipping from Canada!
go see for yourself - http://ficklefaerie.etsy.com/ - cool bags!
See ya later!
**** I mentioned that I thought they would be great for washing hose in - but Ms. Ficklefaerie let me know that the seams are too rough to be used for this purpose! So, please do NOT put your hose in these wonderful reusable produce bags.

How to Get A Grandmother From Arizona to North Carolina

I'm featuring just one person today instead of my usual two.

Aren't' those some pretty earrings? They are made by Krystle at DK Jewels. They're still available in her shop - well they were 20 minutes ago.

Krystle and Mr dk jewels are expecting a new baby boy, by mid Sept.
Krsytle is a stay at home mom who has been married for almost 8 years. She and her husband met in Arizona while he was stationed there in the Marine Corp. They now live in North Carolina. Krystle and Mr dk jewels have 2 children , a 7 yr old girl and a 3 yr old boy. Krystle works at home making some very pretty jewelry that she sells on Etsy.

Now, Krystle even with some of her complications with this pregnancy is still doing her jewelry and keeping up her shop. I just ordered a pair of earrings from her and she had them packaged and ready to go within 20 minutes! That's impressive.

Because of the complications she is having, she will be having a c-section. I've had one of those. It does take a little while to heal and totally get back up on your feet. And shoot she's got two other kids to take care of. Krystle is working really hard at selling her jewelry to be able to get enough money together to bring her mom out to NC.

As a grandmother, I can tell you - it is the most awesome feeling in the world to be there when your grandchild is born. It's almost more incredible than giving birth to your own child!

So, go visit her shop and do some early Christmas shopping, or buy someone a birthday present, or just get yourself a really pretty pair of earrings. She's having a SALE too. Everything is 25% off. Or you can let her keep the 25% to add to her funds to get her mom out to NC.

Mr dkjewels does have a job there in NC - but, you know how expensive airplane tickets are - how many young families really have that kind of money to fly grandma out when they are expecting a new baby!

Help her out if you possibly can. Can you go without your Starbucks for a week or two?
Her earrings and other jewelry is very reasonably priced especially for a great pair of handmade earrings!
Thank you for visiting my blog, now go visit http://dkjewels.etsy.com/
Have a wonderful evening.
